This Privacy Policy explains how FinCalc ("the App", "we", "us", "our"), provided by [LEGAL ENTITY] ("ACKBiz"), handles information. FinCalc is a calculation and planning tool only — it does not provide loans, deposits, investment advice, or financial products.
By using FinCalc you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Summary (plain English)
- Your numbers stay on your phone. Every calculation, saved plan, history entry, comparison and setting is stored only on your device. We do not upload, see, or have access to it.
- We use Google Firebase to receive anonymous crash reports and usage analytics, so we can fix bugs and improve the App.
- The App can show ads via Google AdMob, which are off by default. When enabled, Google may use an advertising identifier. No sign-in. No account. We do not sell your data.
1. Who we are
FinCalc is published by [LEGAL ENTITY] ("ACKBiz"). For any privacy question or request, contact us at contact@ackplus.com.
2. Information stored only on your device (we do not collect it)
The following never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us:
- Your calculator inputs (amounts, rates, tenures, etc.).
- Your saved plans, calculation history, comparisons, and favourites.
- Your preferences — default currency, theme (light/dark), and the optional
- greeting name you may enter in Settings.
This data is kept in the device's private app storage. It is removed when you clear the App's data or uninstall the App. We cannot access or recover it.
3. Information collected automatically (via Google Firebase)
To keep the App reliable and improve it, we use Google's Firebase services, which collect limited technical data:
a) Crash & diagnostics — Firebase Crashlytics. When the App crashes or errors, we receive a crash report containing the stack trace, device model, operating-system version, App version, and a pseudonymous installation identifier. Purpose: detect and fix crashes and bugs.
b) Usage analytics — Google Analytics for Firebase. We receive aggregate usage events (e.g. which screens/calculators are opened, session counts), device type, operating system, language, App version, an approximate region derived from your IP address (coarse — not precise GPS location), a pseudonymous app-instance identifier, and may include your device Advertising ID. Purpose: understand how the App is used so we can improve it.
We do not use this information to determine your real-world identity, and we do not combine it with the on-device data in Section 2.
4. Advertising — Google AdMob (off by default)
The App includes the Google AdMob SDK. Ads are disabled by default and are controlled remotely; many releases show no ads at all.
If ads are enabled, Google AdMob may collect and use your device's Advertising ID and ad-interaction data to serve and measure ads (personalised or non-personalised depending on your device settings, region, and any consent prompt). For these purposes Google acts as an independent controller of the ad data. See:
- Google Privacy Policy — https://policies.google.com/privacy
- How Google uses information from sites/apps that use its services — https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
5. Network requests the App makes
Besides Firebase/AdMob, the App makes a small number of non-personal requests to our backend (apps.ackbiz.com):
- App configuration (whether ads are on/off and test/live): sends the App's catalogue slug (fincalc).
- Update check: sends the App's package name (com.ackbiz.fincalc), the platform (Android/iOS), and the current App version, so we can tell you when an update is available.
These requests contain no personal data. If they fail (e.g. you are offline), the App continues to work normally.
6. Feedback you send us
If you use the in-app "Send feedback" option, the App opens your email app pre-filled to contact@ackplus.com with your message and a short diagnostic block (App name/version, OS version, device model, locale, timestamp). The email is sent by you, from your own email account — we receive only what you choose to send. We use it to respond to and improve the
App.
7. How we use information
- Operate, maintain, and improve the App.
- Diagnose and fix crashes and bugs (Crashlytics).
- Understand aggregate usage (Analytics).
- Serve and measure ads if and when ads are enabled (AdMob).
- Respond to your feedback and support requests.
8. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. Data is processed by our service providers strictly to provide the functions above:
- Google — Firebase Crashlytics, Google Analytics for Firebase, and AdMob. See the Firebase privacy information at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.
9. Data retention
- On-device data (Section 2): kept until you delete it or uninstall the App.
- Analytics/Crash data: retained according to Google's Firebase defaults and our project configuration (for example, Crashlytics reports are typically retained for around 90 days; Analytics retention is configurable).
- Ad data: handled per Google's policies.
10. Security
Data sent to Firebase/AdMob and our backend is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). On-device data is protected by your device's operating system sandbox. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect information.
11. Your choices and rights
- Advertising ID: you can reset it or opt out of ad personalisation in your device settings (Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking / Apple Advertising).
- Stop all collection: clearing the App's data or uninstalling stops further data collection from your device.
- Regional rights: depending on where you live (e.g. the EU/UK GDPR, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, or California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority. Our legal bases include our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the App and, where required, your consent (for example, for personalised ads).
- Requests: to exercise any right, or to request deletion of analytics/crash data associated with your App installation, email contact@ackplus.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
12. Children's privacy
FinCalc is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact contact@ackplus.com and we will delete it.
13. International data transfers
The Firebase/AdMob services we use may process data on Google servers located outside your country. Where required, such transfers are made under appropriate safeguards (for example, standard contractual clauses).
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice (in the App or on this page). Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
